About AppVetter
AppVetter is an independent editorial site that reviews popular Android apps with one consistent question in mind: what does this app actually do with your attention, your money, and your data?
Why this site exists
App store listings are written by the companies that make the apps. Star ratings compress thousands of different experiences into one number. What tends to be missing is the middle layer: a plain-language account of what an app is good at, where it falls short, and what you are agreeing to when you tap Install. That middle layer is what we write.
Every review on this site follows the same structure — what the app does, who it suits, its key features, a dedicated privacy and data-safety section, honest pros and cons, and a verdict. The privacy section is not an afterthought; it is the reason the site exists. We read data safety declarations, privacy policies, and reporting on each app so that you do not have to.
What we are not
We do not host application files on our own servers. Every app page links to the official Google Play listing, and where we offer an APK download option it is served through an established third-party distribution network, clearly labelled, with the official store link always presented alongside it. We are not affiliated with Google or with any developer we review, and no developer has paid for coverage or seen a review before publication.
How the site is funded
AppVetter is supported by advertising, clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers have no influence on which apps we cover or what we say about them. If an app is popular but treats user data carelessly, the review says so.
Corrections
Apps change quickly, and a review that was accurate at publication can drift out of date. If you spot something wrong — a feature that moved behind a paywall, a policy that changed, a factual error — write to us via the contact page. We review correction requests and update articles, and material corrections are noted in the affected review.
You can read more about our review process on the How We Review page.
